Peter and Amanda matched though a multivariate machine
learning
variant of the Nobel Prize-winning Gale-Shapley algorithm in December of 2022. This was
just before Amanda headed home to Boston over the holidays for two weeks.

Normal circumstances would
make this two week gap to a first date somewhat doomed. However, they defeated the odds
thanks to Peter's excellent opening question, just-frequent-enough messages, and
requests for dog photos of Amanda's family dog, Toby.

They met at a brewery when Amanda got back to Seattle and
easily hit
it off - a slightly disgruntled bartender had to inform them it was time to close. They
went out again two days later, on what happened to be New Year's Eve, on a bit of a
marathon date including art, whiskey tasting, secret codes and meeting some of Amanda's
best friends
(no pressure!).

The marathon dates escalated and within a few weeks
Amanda was
heading
backpacking with Peter and some of his closest friends on the Washington coast - in the
cold of early March, with snow on the ground, isolated by the tide... and it was such an
incredible trip! Amanda was thrilled she had picked the right internet stranger to go
deeply off the grid with and the rest is history.

Fast forward to moving in together in December 2023 and
the joys of
pet ownership with the addition of their Australian cattle dog mix, Scout, in October
2024. They are both so excited to celebrate with you not far from that backpacking site
in the Olympic National Park.
